While summer has just now gotten underway, it will end all too soon. The end of summer means people tend to spend less time out of doors and often times when we spend more time indoors our activity levels diminish. However, once summer ends, the holidays are just around the corner and if you are like most people you want to look your best through the holiday season.
Part of looking your best is trimming that flat and toning up. Finding some simple exercises you can do in the comfort of your home will help you trim up the fat and flab and tone your muscles so that your clothes fit better and you look great throughout the holiday season. Here are some simple exercises you can try to help you get ready for those special holiday get togethers.
Toning Your Backside and Legs
To look your best for the holidays whether you are a man or woman or are wearing jeans, dress pants or a dress you don’t want a sagging backside or flabby looking legs. Of course walking or running will firm up these areas, but many people simply don’t spend much time out of doors during the fall and winter months. If you have a treadmill or a stain climber then firming up those legs and backside should be relatively simple, but even if you don’t have any special equipment you can do step hops to quickly trim up that fat and firm up.
To do a step hop you start with your feet slightly apart and your knees slightly bent and your hands resting on your hips. Step forward with your right foot lifting your knee to hip level and hop straight up on your right leg, and land on both feet. Alternate feet and do 15 or 20 repetitions.
Burning Calories and All Over Toning
Another cheap way to trim flab and provide all over body toning is simply by jumping rope. Jumping rope burns calories tones arm and leg muscles and even helps to reduce stomach flab. It’s a great all round exercise that will fit into anyone budget. Jumping rope for 10 to 15 minutes twice a day should have you looking great in no time at all.
Another good fat burning exercise that will help to tone muscles, is simple jumping jacks. Almost everyone on the planet can do jumping jacks and they don’t require any special equipment. You can incorporate this exercise into an overall workout routine or use it alone. By combining those jumping jacks with walking in place you can get in a good flab burning workout in 20 to 30 minutes a day.
Toning Your Triceps and Arms
If you want to tone your arms then doing chair dips just may be the answer. You can use a living room, dining room or kitchen chair to firm up those triceps. Place your hands on the edge of the seat and
walk your feet backwards. Gradually lower your back side towards the floor bending your elbows until they are at a 90 degree angle. Then press yourself back in place and repeat until you have done 20 repetitions.
The main thing in trimming fat and toning up for the holidays is making sure that you exercise regularly at least 4 days a week. You should also vary your exercises so that you are toning every part of your body. By starting early, you can ensure that your will look great and be fit throughout the holiday season.
