Judging by its low price, the Exerpeutic 1000XI elliptical appears to a low-end elliptical trainer. However, upon closer inspection and finding out that the stride is just 13″ (instead of the normal 18″), it’s clear that the 1000XI is priced as it is because it has been designed for a specific group of people: the majority of women, and men who are below average height.
The Exerpeutic 1000XI only really has one flaw, and that is the assembly process. Many people have stated that they’ve had a hard time assembling the machine because the instruction manual isn’t particularly clear in some parts.
So while you are given all the tools needed to assemble the machine, we hope that you are somewhat of a patient person, as assembling the elliptical may take you a couple of hours. Then again, you could always pay someone to set it up for you if you would prefer not to have to deal with any hassle.
Once you’ve managed to assemble the Exerpeutic 1000XI you’ll find that using the machine is quite an enjoyable experience, providing that, as mentioned, you are below average height.
The stride motion feels both smooth and natural and mimics a natural jogging or walking motion quite
accurately. Hardly any stress or strain is put on the joints as you work out as well, which minimizes fatigue and in turn helps you work out for a longer amount of time.
One of our favorite aspects of the Exerpeutic 1000XI is the minimal noise it makes when in operation. This machine is quiet, and we mean quiet, making it a good choice for those who want to watch TV or listen to music as they work out, for anyone who doesn’t want to annoy the neighbors, or for those who like to work out late at night.
The machine’s quietness can be explained by the way in which the flywheel and V-belt belt drive work in combination and in time with each other, to reduce the sound outputted by the machine.
The Exerpeutic 1000XI comes equipped with 8 resistance levels, which do a commendable job of challenging you and adding variety to your workout. Even if you are in very good shape, we’re going to
say that you might even struggle on the highest level of resistance, especially if you haven’t used an elliptical trainer before.
Therefore, it’s clear that however fit or unfit you may be, you should still be able to find a resistance level that is challenging enough for you.
Upper Body Workout
It’s also nice to see an exercise machine that can offer
a total body workout. While your walking or jogging motion works out your lower body, your upper body can be worked out via the dual action workout arms, which work in combination with your stride to deliver a total body workout.
The computer console is oversized and easy to read. It provides you with feedback on calories burned, distance, speed, time, scan and target zone heart rate monitoring.
It’s a bit annoying that the console requires two AA batteries to work, although this is a minor issue in the grand scheme of things.
Wheels can be found on the bottom of the Exerpeutic 1000XI for easy transportability.
The 1000XI comes with a 3-year warranty.

The 1000XI is little tricky to assemble, although you should get there in the end, and taller individuals will not enjoy as comfortable of a workout as shorter users.
