Exerpeutic 2000 WorkFit High Capacity Desk Station Treadmill Review

The Exerpeutic 2000 WorkFit is designed to help people who live busy, working lifestyles who haven’t got time to exercise out of the office to stay in shape or lose a few pounds.

While it has many things going for it, including a very high user maximum weight capacity, a quiet motor, and excellent build quality, to name a few, there is one apparent flaw – the desk height is not adjustable, which may be bad news for shorter users.

Motor

Just like the Exerpeutic TF1000, the Exerpeutic 2000 is powered by a 1.5-horsepower high torque motor. Due to the nature of the treadmill, it is imperative for the motor to make as little noise as possible when in operation. Fortunately, Exerpeutic has succeeded in this aspect, making it unlikely that the noise of the motor will bother you when working out.

The motor has a minimum speed of .4 mph and a maximum speed of 4 mph, which can be increased or decreased in .1 mph increments. Therefore, you won’t be able to run on this treadmill and so won’t be able to get a serious work out in. Then again, considering the target market of the WorkFit, this shouldn’t be a problem.

Power Incline

The incline can be adjusted from 0%-15%, which is enough to allow you to tailor your workout to be as easy or challenging as you want it to be.

Treadbelt

The Exerpeutic 2000 WorkFit treadbelt measures 20” W x 40”L, making it large enough for taller users not to feel confined as they exercise. There is no cushioning system to speak of, although ultimately this is irrelevant considering that you are unable to run on the Exerpeutic.

Computer Monitor

The computer monitor provides you with feedback on the time, number of calories burned and distance. Your heart rate can also be recorded via the hand grip sensors. Simply place your hands on the handlebars and your pulse will be recorded to a surprisingly high degree of accuracy, considering that wireless heart rate monitoring is not available.

Desk Size

The Exerpeutic 2000 desk measures 4ft x 2ft and can hold up to 50 lbs of weight. While we feel that a larger desk size is advantageous, as you are able to place a full-sized keyboard, monitor, mouse, a couple of peripherls and a phone, there are some users who disagree. Therefore, whether you prefer the larger desk size or not is largely subjective.

Desk accessories include 2 cup or article holders, an AC outlet station, a pre-drilled hole for cords, as well as a reading rack. For comfort purposes, the desk has a full length molded PU foam arm and wrist support

Foldable Design

It’s good to see that the Exerpeutic 2000 WorkFit features a foldable design, particularly if meetings in your office are commonplace and as a result you need to keep the treadmill out of the way.

Warranty

The Exerpeutic 2000 is backed by a 5-year warranty.

The reviews for the 2000 WorkFit have mostly been positive. The first thing to mention is Exerpeutic’s quality of customer service, which is often a very good indicator of how much a company believes in their products and value their customers.

Thankfully, Exerpeutic tick all the right boxes in regards to customer service. Take one user, for example, who experienced a “clanging noise” coming from the treadmill. Exerpeutic immediately offered to replace the treadmill, no fuss.

The WorkFit’s quietness when in operation, build quality, and much higher than usual maximum user weight capacity (400 lbs) have also been praised.

However, you should also keep in mind that shorter users – i.e. those who are 5′ 7” and shorter – may run into a couple of problems.

Any Complaints?

As mentioned, the inability to adjust the height of the desk is quite frustrating, although it’s hard to say whether this will affect your workout experience or not, as it appears to be subjective. We definitely feel that it something that Exerpeutic need to change in their next release, though. Again, the size of the desk is also subjective. It all depends on whether you need the desk space or not.

Anything Else You Should Know?

To sum up, the 2000 WorkFit offers good value for money (any desk treadmill that is priced below $1,000 falls into this category), is well constructed, ideal for larger users, and offers users a chance to get a workout in while still being productive in the process. Exerpeutic’s excellent reputation for customer service is also always a plus. The only complaints are subjective, particularly the size of the desk, but they are certainly things that you will want to factor into your decision making process.
