The Exerpeutic 900XL Extended Capacity Recumbent Bike with Pulse is a very reasonably priced entry-level bike, particularly if you consider how well-constructed it is. However, as you might expect, at this price there is a complete lack of technological features, with the exception of the display.
Typically, recumbent bikes are ideal for those who have some sort of back injury or those who just want a more comfortable workout experience. The Exerpeutic 900Xl features a recumbent design, meaning that it is not only does a good job of keeping your back upright as your exercise to ensure a comfortable ride, but it also means that it is easy to get on and off of.
If you’ve ever used an exercise bike without any resistance then you know that your workout can soon get boring, leaving the bike to pick up dust in the corner of the room. Fortunately, the 900Xl avoids this problem by coming equipped with an 8 level Magnetic Tension Control System which excels at challenging you and adding variety to your workout.
The large, easy-to-read onboard computer tracks everything you would want to know when working out, such as speed, pulse, time, calories burned and distance.
Heart Rate Sensors
Not many budget recumbent exercise bikes come equipped with built-in heart rate sensors. Fortunately, the Exerpeutic 900Xl does, with the sensors located on the handlebars. This is beneficial when you want to maintain your desired target heart rate as you work out.
The Exerpeutic 900Xl uses a smooth torque cranking system along with a V-belt drive and precision-balanced flywheel. This is beneficial for a number of reasons, but primarily because it ensures a quiet, consistent and smooth pedaling motion.
The foot pedals are oversized in order to prevent foot slippage. This not only provides a more comfortable working out experience, but also provides a heightened level of safety.
The Exerpeutic 900Xl comes with a limited 3 year manufacturer’s warranty.

The only thing to complain about is in regards to adjusting the seat. It takes a bit of time to pull the knobs out and put them back in again, which can be slightly annoying if more than one person in your household is intending to use the bike.
