Pros
Affordable – While there are more affordable elliptical trainers on the market, such as those from Exerpeutic and Body Max, Horizon’s models tend to be better constructed and come with more features, offering users better value for money.
Comfort – Horizon Fitness use criteria called a SixStar Certification system, in order to deliver the most comfortable user experience possible. In fact, this stringent criteria results in ellipticals that can challenge high-end models – in regards to comfort, anyway.
Good Range of Features – All of Horizon’s ellipticals typically come with a good range of technological features (often 10 or more built-in workout programs and resistance settings), all managed by an attractive looking, easy to use console. Many also come with speakers and iPod of MP3 inputs.
Excellent Warranty – Many of Horizon Fitness’ ellipticals are backed by excellent warranties. Take the popular EX-59, for example, which is backed by a lifetime frame, 20-year brake, 1-year parts and 1-year labor warranty.
Cons
Maintenance – Some of the company’s models require maintenance, particularly the mechanical braking system. Thankfully, the maintenance needed is simple and minimal, but it’s still a bit of a hassle though.
Weight Limitations – Many of Horizon’s elliptical trainers have a maximum user-weight capacity of 275 lbs, so those who weigh greater than this number may need to look elsewhere.
