The Horizon Fitness T202 Treadmill is the successor to the T102, which was known for its excellent service record and reliability.
The T202 embodies all of the features that made the T102 so popular, but with the addition of several new features and an improved designed. It is perfect for most walkers and joggers, but taller users may be better suited to look elsewhere.
The 2.5 horsepower continuous motor is powerful enough to handle walking and jogging, but struggles to deal with running. It runs both smoothly and quietly, even at the top speed of 12mph.
The Horizon Fitness T202 20” x 55” treadbelt is well suited for individuals who are short-to-average in stature, but as mentioned, taller users and those who have a long stride may feel a little confined as they work out.
The Horizon Fitness T202 Treadmill has 12 built-in programs, which is more than enough variety to ensure that you are kept from getting bored during your workouts. Programs include, manual, weight loss, intervals, hills and 3 targets (time, distance and calorie). The 31 day goal training program is a nice touch, which can help you stick to and achieve your longer-term fitness goals.
While the built-in speakers aren’t of the greatest quality, they are more than adequate for listening to your favorite music as you work out. The MP3 support is a nice touch, which we’re sure that many people will find beneficial.
The T202 comes equipped with an LED display – which is known to be clearer and higher quality than LCD displays – and tracks everything you would expect it to, such as calories burned, distance traveled, time spent exercising and pulse.
Your pulse is tracked through the contact heart rate monitor, which is located on the handgrips. While the reading of your pulse is quite accurate, it is not as accurate as a wireless heart rate monitor. However, the accuracy can be improved upon if you hold onto the handgrips as you continue to work out, although this may be a bit awkward for some.
Despite not being advertised as a folding treadmill, the Horizon Fitness T202 has folding capabilities which makes it easy to store. This is always beneficial for those of you who have limited space in your homes but still want to work out without having to venture outside.
The built-in cooling fan, located in the console, is a nice touch, although the stream of air could be more powerful.
One of our favorite aspects of this treadmill is the ability to record your workouts, through your iPod/iPhone, and upload them onto Nikeplus.com. This is very useful in helping you to keep to your workout regime, and thus, achieve your fitness goals.
The Horizon Fitness T202 comes with a lifetime frame and motor, 1 year parts and labor warranty.
7 x 33 x 58 inches
The T202 has been met with mostly favorable reviews, with the majority of the over 35 reviewers stating how they like the stability and sturdiness of the machine, as well as the versatility, thanks to the range of features. However, some have complained that, when switching the treadmill on or changing the settings, a loud beep can be heard.

Besides the sound of the beep, there isn’t much to complain about. However, if you are very tall or have very long legs (longer stride) then you may feel a little confined as you workout.
Anything Else You Should Know?
There isn’t much to add. All you need to know is that the Horizon Fitness T202 is frequently cited as being one of the best treadmills on the market in its price range. As the machine is based on its predecessor – the T101 – you can expect the same reliability, durability and smooth operation that the T101 was known for, with a few extras.
