LifeCore R100 Commercial Rowing Machine Review
While the Lifecore R100 is considered to be a commercial rowing machine- primarily because of its unrivaled quality, toughness and versatility, it is also suitable for home use. In fact, according to Lifecore, the majority of people who purchase the R100 intend to use it at home.
But is the R100 worth the steep price? Or should you opt for a cheaper “non-commercial” machine, such as the Velocity Fitness Magnetic Rower, or one ot Lifecore’s other models such as the Lifecore R88? Well, only you can decide, but the following information should help you make your decision.
Magnetic Resistance Technology
Thanks to the R100 using magnetic resistance technology, however hard and fast you pull, you are still guaranteed to enjoy a smooth workout. This is beneficial for a number of reasons, including less strain on the joints, a more effective workout and a quieter working out experience.
This particular model offers 16 levels of magnetic resistance, ensuring that you can find a level that works in line with your goals, whether you are a novice or experienced rower.
The R100 is easy to assemble, despite its large size, allowing you to start rowing within 10 minutes of taking it out of the box. This is largely due to the model’s efficient and modular design, but also thanks to the clear, detailed instructions that are included in the manual.
While the R100 isn’t going to win any awards for its size (92 x 19 x 36 – L x W x H), it has been designed for easy storage, as it’s easy to fold up. Surprisingly, the unit is relatively light; however, upon further inspection, this isn’t as much of a surprise as we first thought, as we discovered that the frame is made from aluminum.
The Lifecore R100 has many enviable features, but the stand out has to be the technology used in the machine. The display can only be described as crystal-clear, the monitor depicts virtually every piece of information that an exerciser could desire (heart recovery, interval and pacer programs, in addition to 3 heart rate control programs), and up to 4 different user profiles can be stored, including favorite workouts, workout data and more.
The machine also comes equipped with 15 different workout programs, which do an excellent job at helping you stay motivated.
Lifecore have always excelled at providing users with a comfortable rowing experience, and the R100 is no exception. The handles have been ergonomically designed as well as the seat which can hold up to 600 pounds.
Our favorite feature, in regards to comfort, however, has to be the cooling air vent, which is an element that is often overlooked by other rowing machine manufacturers. A cool stream of air is a great thing to have at your disposal, and can provide you with relief when you feel like giving up during a tough workout.
The Lifecore R100 comes with a lifetime frame, 5 years on parts and 1 year on labor for residential use; 2 years parts and 90 days labor for light commercial use and 1 year part for full commercial use warranty.

LifeCore R100 Commercial Rowing Machine Review by Users:
The R100 has received very positive reviews from consumers, with special mention going to the resistance levels and workout programs, the smoothness of the rowing motion and the way in which the seat glides, as well as the construction quality of the machine. However, some users have complained about the foot rests, although this issue seems to have been fixed since 2009.

A very small minority of users reported that, when the foot rests are lifted, they have a habit of pinching the heels. However, this is an infrequent complaint and minor problem that can easily be remedied by wearing a different pair of shoes.
