The PowerBlock Classic Adjustable Dumbbell Set is cheaper than the SelectTech and often considered to be the better product by those who have used both. The dumbbells can be adjusted from 5 to 45 pounds in 5-pound increments, work intuitively and can even be expanded to meet your strength needs.
Easy to Adjust
Besides safety, the most important aspect of dumbbells are how easy they are to adjust. Thankfully, the PowerBlocks are very easy to adjust, which is down to the selector pin that allows you to change weights easily, just like with weight stacks at the gym. Simply move the weight selector pin into the appropriate slot when you want to change weights.
As mentioned, the dumbbells can be adjusted from 5 to 45 pounds in 5-pound increments, effectively doing the job of 18 individual weights that have a combined weight of 450 lbs. However, if you purchase the PowerBlock 20 lb Expansion Kit then you can expand to 70 lbs per hand.
Due to the padded, well-thought out handle design, using the PowerBlock’s are very comfortable, particularly if you have a weak wrist and are just getting acclimatised to free weights.
The PowerBlock Adjustable Dumbbell Set is backed by a 10-year warranty.

PowerBlock Classic Adjustable Dumbbell Set User Reviews
The PowerBlock Classic Adjustable Dumbbell Set is one of the highest rated pieces of exercise equipment on the market, dumbbell or otherwise. It currently has an average rating of 4.7 out of 5.0 with over 100 reviews to its name.
Users have praised the dumbbells’ construction quality, value for money, particularly when compared to SelectTech dumbbells, and ease of use. For example, users say that they are able to perform a wide variety of exercises, such as seated curls, bent over rows, military press, dumbbell deadlifts, triceps extensions etc, without running into any issues.
The PowerBlock’s durability can’t be faulted, as 4-5 years down the line after regular use the weight stacks are just as stable and the grip is still intact, according to a number of users.
However, there are a couple of issues, although they are applicable to all dumbbells and not just the PowerBlock Classic, with the most important being that you must insert the pins straight and not at an angle, as there is a possibility that the plate will break loose.

There is very little to complain about; however, as mentioned, you must take care when inserting the pins when setting the weight. After extensive use, you may find that there is an issue with friction between the plates; however, applying a very thin layer of lubricant is all that is needed to be done.
Anything Else You Should Know?
The only thing to add is that whether you go for the PowerBlock Classic or any other of PowerBlock’s dumbbells such as the PowerBlock Elite 90, you can’t go wrong. They are considered to be the best manufacturer in the dumbbell industry, and therefore whichever model you decide on will purely be subjective and not because one of the models is better than the other.
