Released in early 2013, the ProForm 6.0 RT Treadmill is the latest treadmill designed by ProForm to hit the market. While it is n’t the best of treadmills to run on, thanks to it’s relatively weak motor, nor is it best suited for very tall individuals, it comes equipped with a number of useful features and is worth a look at if your budget is approximately $500.
As mentioned, the 2.5 HP continuous motor isn’t the most powerful motor in the world (although it’s what you can expect to find in this price range), but if you simply need a treadmill to walk and jog on, then it will certainly get the job done.
However, perhaps more importantly, the motor operates both smoothly and quietly, which is something that isn’t always the case with treadmills in this price range, and the speed can be adjusted from anywhere between 0-10 mph.
The treadbelt, or running deck as some people like to call it, is a little on the small side, measuring just 18″ x 50″. Therefore, very tall individuals may feel a little confined as they work out on the ProForm 6.0 RT.
However, its built-in cushioning system shouldn’t be overlooked, as it is able to absorb the impact of your walking and jogging motion, which is something that those who need to take it easy on the joints, or those looking for a comfortable workout experience, will appreciate.
10% Quick Incline
Just like the ProForm 590 T, the 6.0 RT features something called 0-10% Quick Incline. With this feature at your disposal, you are able to increase the incline by up to 10% at just a touch of a button. Why is this beneficial, you may ask? Well, not only does it result in a more challenging workout, but it also means that more calories can be burned at a faster rate.
The computer console on the ProForm 6.0 RT displays everything that you would expect it to, including distance, time, speed, incline, and calories burned. Your heart rate can also be measured, thanks to the inclusion of an EKG Grip Pulse sensor, which is able to accurately measure your pulse by you simply placing your hands on the handlebars as you exercise.
The only other thing to mention about the computer console is that all the readings are accurate and the feedback is easy to read, due to the LCD display being bright and the font large.
The ProForm 6.0 RT comes with a decent number of workout programs. In total, there are 8 built-in preset workout programs, which do a good job at mixing up and adding variety to your workout. However, more often than not, users like to build their own custom workout, which the 6.0 RT has the ability to do.
Due to their large footprint and heaviness treadmills usually aren’t very ease to store; however, this isn’t the case with the ProForm 6.0 RT. It features a Space Saver Design, allowing you to fold up the treadmill and keep it out of the way when not in use. Wheels can also be found on the bottom of the machine for easy transportation.
The 6.0 RT is backed by a 5-year frame and motor, and 90-day parts and labor warranty.

Proform 6.0 RT Treadmill Review by Users
As the 6.0 RT has just been released, there currently aren’t many reviews to its name. However, it has been well received so far.
According to users, the 6.0 RT is best suited to walkers and joggers, it is easy to assemble, appears to be well constructed, and offers good value for money. The treadmill’s ease of use and compact size has also been praised. Of course, nothing is perfect though, there are also a couple of things users have found to complain about.
There’s not a whole lot to complain about. It would’ve been nice if the treadbelt was a little bigger, but it seems as if ProFrom designed the 6.0 RT for those with limited space in mind. The warranty could also be better, but the 6.0 RT appears to be well-designed and high quality components have been used in the manufacturing process, so it’s unlikely to break down anyway.
Anything Else You Should Know?
While the ProForm 6.0 RT shouldn’t be purchased by runners and very tall individuals due to the 2.5 HP motor and 18″ x 50″ treadbelt, if you’re on a budget, don’t have much space, and want a treadmill that has been manufactured by one of the most well respected brands in the industry, then it’s well worth a look at.
