ProRower H2O RX-950 Review
Check ProRower H2O RX-950 Review details below:-
The ProRower H2O RX-950 Club Series Rowing Machine is based on the bestselling RX-850 (and to an extent the ProRower H2O RX-750), with a few extras. Therefore, you can be assured that you are getting a well-constructed, reliable rower that offers a lifelike rowing experience, in addition to a generous warranty. But is it really worth paying extra for the RX-950?
Mimics On-the-Water Rowing
Many people, when they are in the market for a rower, want a machine that is able to accurately mimic the feeling of rowing on water as if they are sat in a boat with the wind blowing in their face as they row – and I’m sure that you feel the same way.
Unfortunately, the RX-950 is unable to provide that cool breeze blowing in your face as you row, but what it does do, however, is mimic the on-the-water feel of rowing thanks to the innovative Hydro-Power Drive System. Couple that with the internal paddle system and polycarbonate water tank, and the result is a smooth, true, lifelike rowing experience.
Just like rowing in a boat, the water acts as the resistance system. If you want a tougher workout, simply row faster; if you want a more relaxing workout, row slower. This natural adaptive resistance is an excellent feature as it means that the RX-950 can be used by virtually anyone, but there is one caveat – see Any Complaints.
The adjustable, pivoting footrests are able to accommodate a wide range of users. Furthermore, the included “sure-grip” footpads enhance the machine’s comfort and safety, which we felt was a nice touch.
The RX-950 takes up a minimal amount of floor space thanks to its compact design. It measures just 89 x 30 x 26 inches, and folds or stands upright for easy storage. Despite its compactness, the RX-950 somehow manages to support a maximum user weight of 550 pounds, which is probably down to the corrosion-resistant anodized aluminum and stainless steel.
The ProRower H2O RX-950 oversized, easy-to-read display provides feedback on everything that you could want to know as your row, including calories burned, strokes per minute, 500-meter split time, distance, exercise time and heart rate – which works via the built-in heart rate receiver. There isn’t much else to say apart from that all the readings are accurate.
This rower comes with a lifetime frame, 3-year tank and seals, and 2-year mechanical and non-wearing components warranty.
89 x 30 x 26 inches
The RX-950 has been extremely well received since its release, with users praising the simple assembly process, the overall feel of the workout, and most importantly, the effectiveness of the workout. However, a couple of users have also complained about the seat and level of resistance.

It would have been nice if ProRower had equipped the RX-950 with a height adjustable seat and made the resistance a little greater (supports 4.5 gallons of water); although, the level of resistance should provide enough of a challenge, unless you are a serious rower, and the lack of adjustability for the seat shouldn’t be a problem unless you are very tall, i.e. 6 foot 3” or taller.
Anything Else You Should Know?
All you need to know is that the RX-950 is pretty much the same as the RX-850, which has established itself to be an excellent rower, with a few extras. Therefore, if an elevated seat, dual rails and a higher user weight capacity is something you are interested in, you should opt for the RX-950. However, if you are not too concerned with these features then do yourself a favor and save a bit of money by purchasing the RX-850.
While the decision comes down to you personal preferences, whichever one you choose, you are likely to be happy with your purchase.
