Stamina ATS Air Rower Review
Table of Contents
The Stamina ATS Air Rower 1399 is a well built, compact and low priced rowing machine that has been designed for those who are new to rowing or for anyone who is looking to lose weight or stay in shape.
There are a distinct lack of technological features, which partly explains the low price, but if you’re more interested in getting in a good full body workout rather than having a range of workout programs to row along to, then it’s well worth a look at.
The first thing to talk about is the resistance. The Air Rower utilizes air for resistance, hence the name of the rower, unlike the Stamina Avari Rower. Therefore, this particular model is different to many others on the market, as you are unable to adjust the resistance to your liking by pressing a button or turning a knob.
However, varying degrees of resistance still exist, as you determine the level of resistance – to increase resistance simply row harder, and vice versa.
The Stamina Air Rower is one of the more comfortable rowers currently on the market. For a start, the seat is over sized, glides smoothly along the rail and features a good level of padding; the hand grips are also padded, which goes a long way in avoiding blisters or fatigue of the the arm; and the foot plates are also over sized, allowing anyone to find a comfortable fit regardless of their foot size.
The most important aspect of any rower for most people is its rowing motion. The last thing you want is to spend several hundred dollars on a rowing machine only to find that the motion is jerky, as this will result in you giving up on your workout regime.
Fortunately, the Air Rower’s motion feels smooth without any unexpected jerks or stops as you row. Despite its low price, the machine is also surprisingly able to replicate the the rowing motion that is typically reserved for rowing in a boat on the water fairly accurately.
The computer console is rather basic in its functionality but should suffice for most. You are given feedback on the most important information that you would like to know as you row, including speed, distance, time and calories burned. It’s good to know that the information is easy to read due to the console being well-lit and the font being oversized.
Storing the Stamina Air Rower is easy enough thanks to the foldable frame and built-in wheels for portability purposes.
The Stamina Air Rower is backed by a 3-year frame and 90-day parts warranty.
77 x 18 x 22 inches (Assembled)

Even though the Stamina is a rowing machine, it appears to work out the arms more than legs. However, unless you are a rower who needs to train at home or during the off-season, then this shouldn’t be an issue, considering that you can still get a good workout in.
