The Velocity Fitness Magnetic Recumbent Bike is certainly cheap and will clearly appeal to those on a budget. However, it comes with a surprisingly generous number of features, and is a good choice for anyone who is planning on working out for an hour or two a few times a week, instead of for several hours a day every day of the week (the Velocity Fitness Indoor Cycle is a better choice if you are.)
The Velocity comes with 8 resistance levels, which can easily be adjusted through the tension-tightening knob. While the highest level of resistance should be challenging enough for most people, if you’re in excellent shape then you may want to have a look at a bike that has a greater number of resistance levels, although you will have to pay for the privilege.
Furthermore, it’s good to see that the Velocity Fitness Magnetic Recumbent Bike has been equipped with a two-way flywheel, as it means that you can pedal both forwards and backwards, allowing for more variation your workout.
More importantly, though, is that the flywheel does a good job of making sure that your pedaling motion feels both smooth and natural. While it doesn’t quite feel like a true road bike feel, it’s still much better than expected, considering the price this bike retails at.
Much like the flywheel, the computer monitor is better than expected, as it provides feedback on a range of useful information, including RPM, time, speed, calories burned, pulse (via the built-in contact heart rate sensors on the handlebar), scan, and even body fat percentage.
The readings are quite accurate, which is surprising considering that this is a budget exercise bike, although you you shouldn’t expect the accuracy to be in line with exercise bike that cost $1,000+.
The main selling point of recumbent exercise bikes is the seat. The seat has a backrest, which is something that just isn’t found on traditional, upright exercise bikes. Therefore, the Velocity Fitness Magnetic Recumbent Bike, being a recumbent bike, is quite comfortable to use, although it’s fair to say that the seat can’t compete with the ones found on higher priced recumbent bikes.
It’s also worth noting that the seat and padded foot pedals can be adjusted, allowing anyone, regardless of their height, weight, or foot size, to get into a comfortable riding position.
Built-in wheels can be found on the bottom of the bike for easy transportation and storage purposes.
The Velocity is backed by a 5-year frame, 90-day computer console and 30-day all other parts warranty.

Velocity Fitness Magnetic Recumbent Bike User Reviews
Considering that the Velocity Recumbent Bike is quite new, there aren’t many reviews available to read online. However, from what we’ve been able to find, users seem to think that the bike offers excellent value for money, appreciate how it is almost “soundless” in operation, and think that it is a good choice for anyone who is planning on exercising in short bursts, instead of for extended periods of time.
However, the assembly instructions could be better, as they consist of 5 small diagrams rather than written instructions, and there is also an issue with the heart rate monitor.

Besides what was mentioned above, there isn’t much else to complain about. However, you may want to purchase a gel seat cover to make things just that little bit more comfortable as you cycle, particularly if you’ve never used an exercise bike with any regularity before.
Anything Else You Should Know?
All you need to know about the Velocity is that, while it doesn’t come with all the bells and whistles than can be found on higher priced bikes, such as speakers, an MP3 input, and fan, it’s still definitely worth a look at if you’re on a budget.
