Diamondback Fitness 510Ic Indoor Cycle Trainer Review

The Diamondback Fitness 510Ic is yet another solid release by Diamondback, a company that can seemingly do no wrong when it comes to exercise bikes.

Despite being a spin bike, Diamondback have included a generous number of technological features, which is something that is practically unheard of. There are 14 workout programs, including 8 preset programs, 4 heart rate controlled programs (you can train effectively by staying at your target heart rate throughout the workout program), as well as manual and custom user programs. There are also 16 levels of resistance which should challenge even the fittest of individuals.

All of these programs and resistance settings can be selected via the on-board computer monitor and you are provided with real-time feedback on miles traveled, heart rate level, calories burned, speed, and time all to a high degree of accuracy.

The 510Ic’s flywheel comes in at 32 lbs, which is more or less the norm for spin bikes in this price range, and is heavy enough to create momentum and accurately replicate the feeling of riding a road bike –i.e. recreate the high rpm training techniques used by outdoor cyclists.

The one aspect of the bike that can be improved upon is its comfort. However, if you’ve ever used a spin bike before then you know just how uncomfortable the seats can be, most probably because users tend to stand up while riding the bike, just like on a road bike. The 510Ic’s seat is by no means terribly uncomfortable; it could just do with a bit more padding.

We do appreciate the multi-position handlebars, though, as you are provided with a variety of hand positions with the comfort of soft foam covering, as well as the ability to adjust both the seat and handlebars up/down and fore/aft, particularly as it allows users with different body types to get into a comfortable riding position.

The Diamondback Fitness 510Ic also comes with a water bottle and holder, and is backed by a lifetime frame and resistance brake, 3-year parts, 1-year labor and 90-day wear items warranty.

Diamondback Fitness 510Ic Indoor Cycle Trainer Review by Users:

As expected, the feedback for the 510Ic has been very good. Users point to the bike’s construction quality, quiet operation, adjustable settings, and technological features as its strengths. From what we’ve seen so far, users have had nothing to complain about, although this may have changed since we last looked.

As one user puts it, “By far this is not the most expensive spin bike you could buy, but for the money it’s certainly worth every penny.”
