Livestrong LS Pro 1 Treadmill Review

The general consensus is that, despite being classified as a residential treadmill, the LS Pro1 is closer to a commercial model, in terms of build quality, motivational features, the technology used and generally because it contains features that can usually only be found on treadmills which are purchased by health clubs and other institutions.

The Livestrong LS Pro 1 is powered by a 3.0 horsepower continuous duty motor. It is the same motor that can be found in commercial grade models used in health clubs across the country.

The motor is able to reach a maximum speed of 12mph and an incline of up to 14%, which is greater than many other treadmills in this price range; yet, it is both smooth and quiet when in operation, even at the highest intensity.

The frame has been crafted with heavy-duty, full-cast aluminum, which results in the treadmill being very stable and sturdy. Even though the LS Pro1 is classified as a residential treadmill, it has been built to a much higher standard than other home use treadmills, and feels like a commercial model.

It is clear that this treadmill has been built to last and support the toughest, most intensive workouts. The maximum user capacity is 350 lbs, making it an excellent choice for runners or families who need a sturdy treadmill that can withstand frequent usage.

The ability to fold the frame via the hydraulic lift system is a nice touch that allows for quick and easy storage.

One of the best things about the LS Pro1 is that it can be used by anyone, regardless of their weight or height, thanks to the commercial grade 20” x 60” treadbelt. This is spacious enough to allow users over 6 feet to work out comfortably, without feeling confined – the same as the Livestrong Fitness LS15.0T.

The treadbelt also features 60mm large rollers to ensure that proper lubrication and alignment is present at all times, and the RunnerSoft cushioning system does an excellent job of reducing stress on your joints and bones, which is an all too common problem with treadmills.

The Livestrong LS Pro 1 comes equipped with a generous number of programs to help you achieve your fitness goals. Overall, they are able to challenge you and add variety to your workout. Some of the programs include, manual, speed intervals, peak intervals, weight loss, rolling hills, foot hills, mountain climb, 5K/10K training, pacer, heart rate intervals, Austin, Spring Classic, Custom 1 and 2 and more.

Livetrack Interactive Technology

This is a feature that is exclusive to Livestrong. You can keep track of your progress and work out in line with your short term and long term fitness goals through the included USB device. All you have to do is plug the USB device into the console as you exercise to have your workout stats recorded. You can then plug the USB into a computer to see your workout stats and find out which areas you need to improve upon.

Additionally, you can even log-on to Livestrong.com where you will have access to a range of programs that have been designed by Peter Park- Lance Armstrong’s personal strength and conditioning coach.

ConsoleLivestrong LS Pro 1 Computer Monitor

The oversized, easy-to-read LED display has been intuitively designed, and gives you instant feedback as you workout on pace, calories burned, distance, time elapsed, time remaining, incline and speed.

Your heart rate is monitored through the built-in Contact Grip sensor that can be found on the handrail as well as by the telemetric HR receiver. You are also given the option of working out within your target heart rate zone.

The Livestrong LS Pro 1 comes with a lifetime motor, 5 years parts and 2 years labor warranty.

User Reviews

The LS Pro 1 seems to have been well received since its release, with users praising the build quality of the machine as well as the smoothness of the motor when in operation and quality of the workout. However, one user has stated that the user interface could be more intuitive.

Any Complaints?

Besides the UI, the only thing to complain about is the weight of the treadmill – 345 lbs when boxed. It is therefore recommended that you pay someone to move it to the location of your choice, and refrain from moving it to another room, as doing so will be more than a struggle.

Anything Else You Should Know?

Overall, the LS Pro1 is a very durable machine that has been built to accommodate basic and intense workouts. It is therefore suitable for novice as well as advanced runners.

While other treadmills have a slightly more powerful motor, such as the Sole TT8 Treadmill (although it’s much more expensive), the Livestrong LS Pro 1 differentiates itself from its competitors by being equipped with a range of motivating, technological features and has clearly been built to last. With such unrivaled quality, we are willing to bet that it makes many Best Buy lists at the end of the year.
