ProForm 590 T Review
[wptab name=’Our Analysis’]
The ProForm 590 T is powered by a 2.25 continuous horsepower motor, making it suitable for walkers, joggers and runners (0- 10 MPH QuickSpeed Controls). While this may be common with treadmills, the way in which it users a self-cooling drive system, employing an axial fan to reduce the noise of the motor is not. This gives users the benefit of a quieter workout as well as a motor that is likely to last.
Just like the Proform 790 T, the 590 T’s treadbelt measures 20 x 55 inches which is more or less in line with other treadmills in this price range. Proform designed the treadbelt in a way to make it as comfortable to use as possible. This is down to the ProResponse Cushioning system which integrates firmer support zones at the foot strike and takeoff portion of your stride and maintains it throughout, resulting in less strain being put on your joints as you exercise.
While there may be treadmills that come with more workout programs – there are 16 in total, all designed by a Certified Personal Trainer- the fact that the 590 T is iFit compatible more than makes up for this. To put it simply, iFit is the most advanced, interactive and result-specific fitness experience available, allowing you to choose from weight-loss, performance or wellness goals and listen as Jillian Michaels coaches you through your program.
You are able to keep track of your workout progress (speed, time, distance, incline, calories burned, and pulse via the dual-grip EKG heart rate monitor) on the 6” display. We also appreciate the display being backlit, as it means that you aren’t required to be in a well-lit room to clearly view your progress.
It’s nice to see that Proform have included a few extras, such as a compatible music port for an iPod, an Intermix Acoustics 2.0 Sound System, and SpaceSaver design with EasyLift Assist, allowing you to easily fold the treadmill when it’s time to store it away.
The Proform 590 T is backed by a lifetime frame, 25-year motor and 1-year parts and labor warranty, and is able to support users who are up to 300 lbs. If we’re being fussy, though, we would say that the motor should be backed by a lifetime warranty as other models typically are in this price range.
ProForm 590 T User Reviews
The 590 T has received mostly positive reviews from users, although there are a few things that could be improved upon. Users point to the treadmill’s value for money, construction quality, range of features, and workout effectiveness as its strengths. However, complaints include poor customer service, a struggle folding the treadmill vertically, and the position of the on/off switch.
