Proform 790 T Treadmill Review

The Proform 790 T Treadmill is pretty much identical to the 590 T with the exception of a higher price tag that results in a few more features. These include a more powerful motor, a greater top speed and incline, and a greater maximum user weight capacity.

As the 790 T is powered by a 2.5 CHP Mach Z Commercial Pro Motor instead of a 2.25 CHP motor like the ProForm 505 CST, it is better suited for sprinting on. This is because the maximum speed that can be selected is 12 mph as opposed to 10 mph. The motor on the 790 T is also quiet as it cools internal components when in operation.

There are 16 built-in workout programs to choose from, offering users plenty of variety in their workout. These include 8 weight-loss and 8 performance workouts, or to be more specific, 4 speed, 4 endurance, 4 weight-loss intervals and 4-calorie burn workouts.

The treadbelt measures 20 x 55 inches, making it suitable for those who are very tall or have long strides. Just like the 590 T, the main talking point of the treadbelt is its ProShox Elite 2 Cushioning system, which works to reduce impact on your joints via four isolators that absorb impact as you exercise. The treadbelt can also be adjusted all the way up to 12% which results in a very challenging workout.

The 790T provides you with all the feedback you would expect, such as speed, time, distance, pulse and calories burned, all viewable in a track-style display. Your pulse is measured via the dual-grip EKG heart rate sensors found in the handlebars. The LCD display is backlit and thankfully has a large viewing angle, which both make it easy to read, even in low-lit rooms. The 790 T is also iFit compatible which is something, as fitness enthusiasts, we are always grateful for.

Other features include an Intermix Acoustics 2.0 EQ Sound System, compatible music port for iPod, and SpaceSaver Design with EasyLift Assist, making the treadmill easy to fold and store.

The Profrom 790 T is backed by a lifetime frame and motor, 2-year parts and 1-year labor warranty, and can support users who are up to 325 lbs.

Proform 790 T Review from Users

The reviews for the Proform 790 T Treadmill have mostly been favorable. Users point to the treadmill’s ease of use, intuitive design, quiet operation, sound quality of the speakers, smooth and effective workouts, and comfort as its main strengths. However, a couple of users have had issues with the heart rate monitor, and feel that the calorie counter is inaccurate.

As one user puts it, “For the price I don’t think I could have asked for a better treadmill.”
