ProForm Power 795 Review

The ProForm Power 795 Treadmill has about the best motor you are going to find in its price range. The 2.5 Continuous Horsepower Mach Z Commercial Motor has a good .25 more horsepower than the motors found on other treadmills in this price point, allowing users to reach speeds up to 12 mph and making the treadmill suitable for intensive workouts.

It’s also good to see that changing the speed is simple thanks to the Quickstep Controls – increase or decrease the speed in increments at the touch of a button. More importantly, however, is how the motor is relatively quiet in operation and very well-constructed, which explains how ProForm are able to offer a lifetime warranty.

ProgramsProForm Power 795 Review

The ProForm 795 treadmill comes with 16 built-in programs, which should be more than enough for exercisers. All of these programs, which include 8 performance (4 speed, 4 endurance) and 8 weight-loss workouts (4 weight-loss intervals, 4 calorie-burn), have been designed by a Certified Personal Trainer which is reassuring to see.

The treadbelt measures 20 x 56 inches, which is a little smaller than the 20 x 60 inch treadbelts you tend to find in this price range. However, 20 x 56 inches is definitely wide and long enough to cater to taller people with long strides. The treadbelt’s incline can also be increased or decreased by up to 12% if you fancy more of a challenge.

Computer ConsoleProForm Power 795 Review

The ProForm 795’s computer console features a multi-window LED display, enabling you to check distance, time, speed, incline and calories burned simultaneously, as well as change the speed, incline, program etc. Built into the handlebars are also heart rate monitors which give you a reading after holding onto them for a few seconds. This reading is accurate for the most part.

While the ProForm Power 795 treadmill comes with a CoolAire Workout Fan and other things like an Intermix Acoustics 2.0 Sound System and compatible music port for iPods or MP3 players, which can and indeed do enhance your workout experience, the most important thing is what the treadmill feels like to run off. Well, we can tell you that it feels pretty good.

This is down to the 795’s ProShox Cushioning system, which is said to reduce impact by up to 28%. In other words, less strain and stress is put on your joints as you walk, jog, and most importantly, run.

The ProForm Power 795 is backed by a lifetime frame and motor, 2-year parts and 1-year labor warranty.

Any Complaints?

We only have a couple of minor complaints, which are that the fan could be more powerful in order to be more effective and wireless heart rate monitoring support would’ve been a nice addition, although we can understand why ProForm might have wanted to have kept costs down by focusing on other areas of the treadmill.

Anything Else You Should Know?

The Power 795 measures  76 x 36.75 x 68.58 inches, has a maximum weight capacity of 325 pounds, and comes with a Space Saver Design with Easy Lift Assist,  making it easy to fold the treadmill’s deck up and keep the machine out of the way.

iFit compatibility is also included, which features workouts powered by Google Maps and training with Jillian Michaels. You are also able to fully customize your own fitness program and download programs that are in line with your fitness goals.

If you’re looking to spend under $1,000 on a treadmill then the ProForm Power 795 should definitely make your shortlist, as it is one of the best sub $1,000 treadmills on the market  doing pretty everything right and very little wrong.
